Functional area : Mechanical, Steel & Electrical Procurement & Stores Management
Job description :
- Must have hands on experience in all procurement functions for Electrical items, mechanical stores and raw materials especially for EOT Cranes, Gantry Cranes, Material Handling Equipment, etc.
- Working level understanding for the various major purchase items like Motors, Drives, Panels/erooms, gear boxes, steel plates, structural steel, castings, forgings, couplings, brakes, etc.
- Locating suitable suppliers/ develop new suppliers as required
- Obtain offers and negotiate with Suppliers
- Collaborate intra and inter departmental activities (technical / commercial / administrative / financial)
- Monitor performance of the department
- Evaluate competency of new vendor
- Follow-up with suppliers for timely delivery
- Approval of purchase order as per financial authority
- Follow up with Finance for supplier payment
- Preparation of department budget
- Stores Management
