Position Description:

Designation : Head - Production Planning and Control - Turbine & Generator

Experience : 25+ years

Location : Surat

Qualifications : Bachelor's / Master's in Mechanical or Production Engineering

Job Purpose :

The incumbent will be responsible for end-to-end production planning, scheduling, material coordination, and execution control for turbine and generator manufacturing operations. The role ensures on-time delivery, optimal capacity utilization, inventory control, and cross-functional alignment across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and supply chain.

Roles & Responsibilities :

- Strategic Planning: Develop long-term production strategies and master schedules based on sales forecasts and project timelines.

- Resource Optimization: Allocate manpower, machinery, and material resources to ensure maximum capacity utilization and avoid bottlenecks.

- Material & Inventory Management: Oversee Material Requirements Planning (MRP) to ensure parts (e.g., bearings, blades, generator components) are available while maintaining optimal stock levels.

- Cross-Functional Coordination: Act as the linchpin between Sales, Engineering (for drawing releases), Quality Assurance, and Logistics.

- Performance Monitoring: Track KPIs such as cycle time, production output, and cost-of-manufacturing to identify and implement process improvements like Lean or Kaizen.

- System Ownership: Lead the implementation and management of ERP systems (like SAP PP or Oracle) for real-time production tracking.
