Job purpose & Scope :

To lead a team of cross functional talent in researching, designing, developing & patenting innovative quality consumer & industrial products for end use of customers with a purpose to enhance their quality of life & happiness Major Areas of Responsibilities

Major Areas of Responsibilities :

- Introduce & maintain world-class R&D capabilities by being a change catalyst in improving the current R&D processes

- To build a team of talented professionals with creative minds in delivering quality products for the end users

- Leverage existing resource pool based on their expertise to deliver the R & D Mandates

- Develop a challenging environment for employees to come up with innovative & radical designs to support the purpose of R & D.

- Maintain a culture of confidentiality amongst all the members of the R & D centre - Provide timely guidance to register the products for patents etc.

- Develop strong relationships with certification organisations to facilitate the processes.

- Represent Company in national & international forums with the intent to share the learnings.

- Continuously evaluate the infrastructure & the talent pool to keep it relevant & contemporary

- Encourage teams to improve key processes including; reducing time-to-market, improving design for manufacturability, improving design for quality, and driving down cost to manufacture while maintaining innovation

- Collaborate with all BU stakeholders, to define R&D priorities and activities supporting organic growth and product launch on time and within budget

- Devising the Long term Strategy for R & D & develop infrastructure aligning to meet investment plan.

- Carry out surveys with Marketing team, Competitors to chart out plan to be best in the market by concluding upon the guidelines for new design in consultation with the Design Team.

- Make yearly development plan with Product Line up, quantity growth along with Product Planning/ Marketing team.

Manage the Life cycle management of the existing products

- Ensure all projects (New development, Improvement & lifecycle) delivered comply with required standards, regulations and processes

- Analyse field data from Service for the areas needing improvement and offer design solutions for the relevant issues.

- Follow up with regular reviews and bottleneck improvements

- Implement metrics to measure progress toward achieving world-class capabilities, in accordance with R&D requirements.

Essential Qualification: B.E/B.Tech in Production/ Mechanical & PGD Operations Management

Desired Qualification: M.tech/P.hd in relevant subject
