JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :

- Achieve and maintain required quality levels consistently, in all ships and submarines built at the shipyard through the processes of QA/QC and Destructive/Non-destructive testing to achieve Customer delight as well as to create a brand image of Company products within the limits specified by Customer specifications/Codes & Standards /various instructions.

- Develop/establish and upgrade quality systems across Ship Building, create awareness of good quality system practices, monitor system functioning, and continually improve system functioning through Quality Review Meetings, Management Review Meetings, and Corrective Actions

- Direct and administer verification of weld quality, as per product requirement, through appropriate non-destructive (RT, UT, MT, PT) testing processes and equipment, with personnel specifically qualified and certified in order to facilitate judgment of conformance of product quality

- Direct and administer the determination of mechanical/ chemical/ metallographic properties of material as per requirements from different functional areas in order to facilitate judgment of product quality and meeting of requirements

- Direct and administer the calibration of instruments used for product verification through a planned program and availability of the same against requirements in order to ensure product quality

- Technically support production with WPS-PQRs under the relevant specifications of the class or standards. Training and testing of welders. Development of new methodologies/ processes for improving productivity

- Plan manpower, obtain concurrence & ensure availability by the HR. Identify training needs, initiate learning through knowledge sharing, supervise, monitor, appraise, motivate, ensure discipline & administrative control in order to ensure development of the individuals, team members, for smooth functioning of the department

- Prepare and present quality reports and documentation to clients and internal stakeholders.

- Represent the Shipyard's quality function in Client meetings and audits.

- Identify the areas of improvement in the quality management system and process. As well as implement process improvements to enhance quality and efficiency.

- Stay up-to-date with the latest quality management standards and best practices.

- Manage the quality department budget and resources effectively.
