An HVAC Cost Estimation Engineer prepares detailed, competitive bids for HVAC projects by analyzing technical drawings (GFC/IFC), conducting quantity takeoffs for ductwork and equipment, and calculating labor/material costs. They ensure profitability by sourcing vendor quotes, managing budgets, and preparing Bills of Quantities (BOQs) to meet client specifications.
Key Responsibilities :
Quantity Takeoff & Estimation : Review blueprints/specs to perform detailed takeoffs for ducts, pipes, AHUs, FCUs, and VRF systems.
BOQ Preparation : Create detailed Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and cost estimations for tender proposals.
Cost Analysis : Analyze material, labor, and plant hours to create competitive project bids.
Vendor Negotiation : Source competitive quotes, negotiate with vendors and subcontractors for the best pricing.
Market Analysis : Maintain updated pricing databases on materials and equipment.
Compliance : Ensure all estimates comply with industry standards, safety codes, and company regulations.
