Designation : Lab Head (Grease Production)

Location : Dubai - UAE

Company : A leading Petrochemical company with 3 plants in UAE

Job Summary : Heading the Research and Development function activities for Formulations, Product Development and strategies in the field of Grease in the plant at UAE.

Key Responsibilities include :

- Support the manufacturing and supply chain as a technical expert in the in the base oils and Grease field.

- Working closely with Global Technology Licensors / Partners to develop and build a brand of quality additives for a competitive advantage

- Reduce Complexities and simplify Formulation Guidelines for efficient Product Development

- Work with a Team of Junior Scientists / Researchers for new formulation development ensuring efficient cost structures.

- Be an effective interface between the product development and Marketing Teams

- Basic screening of third party base oils which may offer cost or technical benefit

- Work closely with the Global Supply Chain for Grease to look for reductions in formulation costs

- Identify and assess potential suppliers and new Grease chemistries which may give a technical and cost saving edge for products

- Provide Leadership and technical input to the global team

- Act as the interface between the refinery, international lubricants team, and product heads

- Work closely with the global supply chain team to reduce formulation costs and complexity

Key skills/Attributes :

- MS (Chemistry) or Phd (Chemistry) with Relevant degree qualifications

- 12 - 22 years of exposure in R&D / Technology of Lubricant and Grease.

- Good working knowledge of Lubrication Science, Lubricant Formulation, Costing, Base Oil Chemistry, and Base Oil Manufacturing

- Good working knowledge of Grease Oil Chemistry, structure and dynamics of the Grease Industry

- Knowledge of raw materials procurement for lubricants

- Good commercial acumen

- Strong negotiation skills

- Stakeholder management and strategic planning experience

- Experience in building business strategies, procurement and tendering

- Team leadership experience

Experience preferred : Product Development, Production, R & D, Lab Operation, Grease, Lubricant Additives, Chemical Composition, Chemical Formulation, Lab Setup, Product Portfolio, Oil life analysis, Process Improvement, Product testing, etc.

Note : The Lab Head need to travel to European countries for technical updates & implementations
