Lake Operations Manager - Aqua Farm (8-18 yrs)

Position : Lake Operations Manager ( Aqua Farm )

Job Description :

1. Manages and develops the operations work in consultation with the Farm Head - Aqua.

2. Carries out operational management and administrative functions associated with the operations

3. Developing and implementing of standard procedures

4. Feed and feeding analysis

5. Interpreting and analyzing of results (Trend analysis)

6. Ensures Health and Safety legislation and plans for the farm are adhered to and implemented by staff and other relevant parties

7. Demonstrating a commitment to workplace safety

8. Prepares and implements management and developmental plans for the department and undertakes the training of new personnel to ensure effective settling in

9. Same day mortality collection and analysis

10. Maintain cleanliness and Biosecurity of the whole area

11. Net and mooring integrity check

12. Manages the formulation and implementation of fish health management plans (including disease diagnosis & treatment, consultation with veterinary consultant, drug treatments, disease prevention etc) Biosecurity measures and housekeeping protocols

13. Daily monitoring and recording of water quality parameters, these includes: Dissolved oxygen (mg/li), Temperature (oC) inside and outside cage and also at a depth of 1m, 2m, 4 m., Sechii disc Visibility (SDV) and pH.

14. Manages and optimizes the functional operating budget allocated, ensuring all expenditure is in line with the agreed budgets and seeks appropriate approvals before spending. Identify areas where money is being lost and seek ways to reduce expenditure

15. Manages the logistics of all restocking programmes including planning, transport, timing of deliveries, rostering of staff, cost analysis, fish health and documentation

16. Contribute to safe systems of work and the development of a quality management system through adherence to the organization's policies, procedures and practices, actively participating in the identification and implementation of strategies to control all relevant risks, including the appropriate reporting of notifiable occurrences and environmental incidents and ensuring all work practices continuously improve in accordance with quality principles

MIS Reports :

1. Weekly generation of operational reports

2. Weekly fish harvest schedule and review

3. Weekly net requirement planning

4. Weekly vaccination scheduling and review

5. Fortnightly feed regime review

6. Monthly sampling and growth analysis

7. Monthly review of incidents and health and safety report generation

8. Environmentally Impact Assessment Review - quarterly
