Lead Designer - Component Design (3-8 yrs)
Job Description :
a) Insights from Customer research/ Design Brief
b) Work on design and detailing of Exterior Components (mainly lighting) and communicate with Trends, Moodboards & Renders
c) Translate approved concepts to 3D - Create concept surfaces, interact with Physical model preparation Team and deliver Design intent on full scale models
d) Interface with Engineering teams to find innovative components solutions that can be brought to production and support our exterior design intent
e) Work on design from sketch phase to virtual and 3D modeling and through to A-class surfacing (with an understanding of the B surfaces packaging requirements)
f) Work with Development Teams and Suppliers during Feasibility Engineering to deliver good part craftsmanship
Functional Competencies :
a) Strong sketching and rendering skills - Execute on Adobe Photoshop, / Adobe Illustrator
b) Intermediate 3D Modelling Skills - Execute Class A Surfacing in Autodesk Alias
c) Basic Visualisation Skills - Execute on Autodesk Showcase/ VRED Design
d) Passionate about detail and automotive light design, able to deliver under tight time constraints
e) Experience with production and advanced automotive light design programs will be a plus
Industry Preferred : Automotive, Product Design, Accessories design
