- RentoMojo caters to the needs of working professionals which are unmet due to the nonavailability of furnished rental flats by offering furniture and appliances on a rental basis, thus, providing more flexibility than owning expensive furniture and appliances.
- Currently, we have 100,000+ subscribers with a typical rental period of 1214 months. The current market size (as per a recent report by Grant Thornton) is estimated to be US$ 4.1 Billion and expected to grow to US$ 13 Billion by 2025.
- With 700+ people in operations, the company has a presence in 16 cities across India. Looking back, Rentomojo has not only made a new market of leases that never existed for the consumer, they have also become the market leader in the consumer rental industry. Unlike the norm, they are now seeing a reverse trend wherein a version of ours is being copied in the US and UK. We are also profitable at monthly PAT since Oct 2021.
Role : National R&D & QC Lead - Appliances

About the Role :
- We are looking for an individual with a background in appliance research and development (R&D) and quality control to lead and improve the quality assurance processes for our appliance category. Responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality for all appliances offered by Rentomojo.
Responsibilities and Ownership : (Things that the role cannot miss)
- Appliance R&D
- Lead the initiatives towards setting up private label appliances category.
- Create and study appliances portfolio for the best ROI for the rental solution.
- Appliance Quality Standards
- Define, develop, and implement comprehensive quality standards for all appliances available for rental on the Rentomojo platform.
- Collaborate with the product development and procurement teams to set quality benchmarks for new appliance selections.
- Quality Assurance Processes
- Design and implement robust quality assurance processes to thoroughly inspect and test all appliances to ensure compliance with Rentomojo's quality standards.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of appliances to identify areas for improvement and adherence to quality guidelines.
- Supplier Quality Management
- Evaluate and qualify appliance suppliers based on their manufacturing capabilities and quality control measures.
- Work closely with suppliers to address quality issues, provide feedback, and drive continuous improvement in the manufacturing process.
- Product Testing and Analysis
- Develop and conduct appliance product testing to assess performance, safety, and overall quality.
- Analyze test results and take necessary actions to enhance product quality and address any potential issues.
- Customer Feedback and Complaints
- Monitor customer feedback and complaints related to appliance quality and take prompt corrective actions as required.
- Collaborate with customer support and operations teams to resolve quality-related issues and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Training and Education
- Conduct training sessions for relevant stakeholders, including suppliers and internal teams, to promote a culture of quality excellence.
- Keep all teams informed and educated on the latest quality standards and best practices.
- Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and quality enhancement in the appliance category.
- Implement initiatives to drive continuous improvement in product quality, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
- Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure that all appliances comply with relevant safety and quality regulations and standards.
- You could be a great fit if you have/are,
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field. An advanced degree is a plus.
- Proven experience in appliance research and development (R&D) and quality control, preferably in a leadership capacity.
- In-depth knowledge of quality management principles, tools, and methodologies.
- Experience in defining and establishing quality standards and processes.
- Familiarity with appliance design, technology, and manufacturing processes.
- Understanding of safety and quality requirements for various appliance categories.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external suppliers.
- Demonstrated leadership skills to drive quality initiatives and influence stakeholders.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining the highest quality standards.
