Job Opportunity: Operations & Maintenance Lead - ISP/Telecom

Position Overview:

The Operations & Maintenance (O&M) is responsible for managing end-to-end network operations, preventive and corrective maintenance, service quality, and technical team performance for ISP/telecom infrastructure. The role ensures optimal uptime, regulatory compliance, and efficient use of resources while driving continuous improvement in service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Network Operations & Maintenance

- Oversee daily operations of Core, Access, and Distribution networks (FTTH, Wireless, GPON, MPLS, IP, DWDM, etc.).

- Monitor network health via NOC and ensure strict SLA adherence.

- Plan and execute preventive & corrective maintenance schedules for routers, switches, OLTs, transmission equipment, servers, towers, and other elements.

- Ensure quick fault isolation, diagnosis, and resolution to minimise downtime.

Infrastructure & Equipment Management

- Manage installation, commissioning, and maintenance of network infrastructure (data centres, POPs, BTS sites, and fibre optic cables).

- Maintain updated network topology documentation and asset inventory.

- Ensure adequate power, cooling, and safety arrangements for equipment.

Service Quality & SLA Compliance

- Ensure uptime targets (99.9% or as per SLA) for backbone and access networks.

- Conduct periodic audits and implement network performance improvements.

- Monitor customer trouble tickets and manage escalations with support teams.

Team Management & Leadership

- Lead and mentor engineers, technicians, and field staff across multiple locations.

- Design and conduct training programmes to enhance technical and safety skills.- 

- Define KPIs and evaluate the performance of the O&M team.

- Vendor & Partner Coordination

- Liaise with vendors, contractors, and service providers for repairs, replacements, and upgrades.

- Assess vendor performance against agreed SLAs.

- Budgeting & Resource Planning

- Prepare and manage the O&M budget (manpower, spares, tools, AMC).

- Optimise operational costs while ensuring service quality.
