Roles & Responsibilities
- Quality Strategy & Governance
- Define and implement end-to-end quality control frameworks across sourcing, manufacturing, and fulfillment
- Establish quality standards, SOPs, and inspection protocols for raw materials, finished goods, and packaging
- Act as the custodian of brand quality and consumer safety
- Manufacturing & Vendor Quality
- Audit and approve contract manufacturers, suppliers, and packaging vendors
- Ensure adherence to quality specifications, batch consistency, and hygiene standards
- Drive CAPA (Corrective & Preventive Actions) for quality deviations
- Product Development & Launch Support
- Partner with R&D, procurement, and supply chain teams during NPD and relaunches
- Validate formulations, packaging, labeling, and shelf-life studies
- Approve pilot batches and scale-up readiness
- Regulatory & Compliance Management
- Ensure compliance with FSSAI / BIS / CDSCO / Legal Metrology / Labelling norms (as applicable to category)
- Manage product registrations, renewals, and documentation
- Coordinate with external labs, auditors, and regulatory bodies
- In-Process & Post-Market Quality
- Monitor in-process checks, final QC, and pre-dispatch inspections
- Track and analyze customer complaints, returns, and marketplace quality metrics
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Systems, Documentation & Audits
- Maintain quality documentation including COAs, MSDS, SOPs, batch records, and test reports
- Lead internal and external audits
- Drive quality dashboards and reporting for leadership reviews
- Team Leadership
- Build and mentor a quality control team
- Train cross-functional teams on quality awareness and compliance
