Position: Lead Site Engineer - Electrical / Instrumentation (Solar Power Plant)
Pay: - 30,000.00 - 40,000.00 per month Plus Other Project Site Benefits
Department: Projects / Construction / Engineering
Location: Jamnagar, Gujarat
Reporting To: Project Manager / Site Construction Manager
Experience Required: 8- 10 Years (Preferably in Solar EPC / Power Projects)
Job Summary
- The Lead Site Engineer - Electrical / Instrumentation is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising all electrical and instrumentation installation activities at the solar power plant project site. The role ensures that electrical systems, SCADA, and instrumentation installations are executed in accordance with project specifications, quality standards, safety regulations, and project timelines.
- The position also involves coordination with civil, mechanical, and commissioning teams to ensure seamless integration of plant systems and successful commissioning of the solar power project.
Key Responsibilities :
Electrical Installation & Execution :
- Lead execution of electrical works related to solar PV power plant construction.
Supervise installation of:
- Solar PV modules and string connections
- String inverters / central inverters
- DC combiner boxes
- HT/LT panels and switchgear
- Transformers and switchyards
- AC/DC cable laying, termination, and routing
- Ensure compliance with approved electrical drawings, SLDs, and technical specifications.
- Instrumentation & SCADA Systems
- Supervise installation and integration of SCADA systems and plant monitoring systems.
- Oversee installation of weather monitoring stations including:
- Pyranometers
- Wind speed sensors
- Temperature sensors
- Rain gauges
- Ensure proper communication network setup (fiber optic / Ethernet).
Site Supervision & Contractor Management :
- Manage and supervise site engineers, supervisors, technicians, and subcontractors.
- Monitor daily work progress and ensure alignment with project schedules.
- Coordinate electrical activities with civil and mechanical construction teams.
Testing & Commissioning :
- Lead electrical testing and commissioning activities, including:
- Insulation resistance testing
- Continuity tests
- Transformer and protection relay testing
- Inverter commissioning
- SCADA integration
- Support grid synchronization and plant energization.
Quality Control & Compliance :
- Ensure installation meets project quality standards and EPC specifications.
- Conduct inspections and ensure quality documentation and test reports are maintained.
- Ensure compliance with national electrical standards and utility regulations.
Safety Management :
- Enforce strict adherence to HSE policies and safety procedures at site.
- Conduct regular toolbox talks and safety briefings.
- Identify and mitigate electrical hazards.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain project documentation including:
- Daily progress reports
- Inspection and test reports
- Material usage reports
- As-built drawings
- Coordinate with the engineering team for design modifications if required.
Client & Stakeholder Coordination :
- Coordinate with client representatives, consultants, and utility authorities.
- Support client inspections, audits, and project review meetings.
-Provide regular progress updates to project management.
Required Qualifications & Education :
Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in :
- Electrical Engineering
- Electrical & Electronics Engineering
- Instrumentation Engineering
Experience :
- 8- 10 years of relevant experience in electrical works for power or infrastructure projects.
- At least 3- 5 years experience in Solar PV projects or renewable energy projects preferred.
Technical Skills :
- Solar PV electrical system installation
