JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Senior Embedded Engineer/Electronics Engineer specifies design, integrates, tests and debugs Low Power & High Power Hardware for a variety of platforms to support product development initiatives. Additionally provides technical and process improvement feedback into the business. Also provides technical and work planning guidance to junior developers and works independently with minimal supervision. Reports to Lead system designer or Team Manager.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Must have comprehensive command over C language for embedded systems

- Should be well adapted to different Core Architectures like ARM, ARM7TDMI, Cortex-Mx, High Definition Video Image Coprocessor (HDVICP)

- Worked with Embedded Linux, with various Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS) and on different Integrated Development Environments (IDE)

- Having sound knowledge of different Protocols, including ZigBee stack, HDLC, DLMS/COSEM stack, IoBus (Proprietary), Time of Flight (TOF), WIDE (Proprietary), REVEAL (Proprietary), WIN (Proprietary)

- To design and develop firmware

- To use enterprise (ERP) software

- Being a part of the Embedded Software/Hardware Development Team

- Designs software using a known and well respected methodology and Codes software based on other engineer's designs /Standard Followed in House.

- Reports project progress, issues and risks to supervisor. Additionally provides effort estimates, feasibility reports and soundness levels on projects/work packages to supervisor.

- In-depth knowledge and practical experience of various elements of project management system including use of various tools

- Responsibility of all the Project lifecycle activities.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skill

DUTIES:

- Being a part of the Embedded Hardware Development Team

- Writes technical documents including but not limited to requirement, technical reports, design specifications in a clear and concise manner using in house or COTS tools

- Resolves problems that are diversified and complex, requiring the development of new or improved techniques and procedures when not covered by established practice.

- Provides technical guidance and supervision to junior developers via mentoring

- Performs reviews and audits on other team members work products as required

- Works and interfaces with engineers of different disciplines

- Creates and updates automated build and test environments using COTS or in house tools

- Works offsite, attends meetings and communicates with clients and subcontractors as required

- Reports project progress, issues and risks to supervisor. Additionally provides effort estimates, feasibility reports and soundness levels on projects/work packages to supervisor

- Plans their own work and the work of junior developers where required

- Carries out other related tasks and projects as required

REQUIREMENTS:

- Experience: 5 to 8 years of experience in application with relevant experience of at least 5 years.

- Should have the skills & experience for hardware development & its integration.

- Expert in Electro-Mechanical Integration

- Expert in Motor Drive System such as DC, AC, SERVO, STEPPER

- Expert in Schematic Design, Hardware Design, System Architecture, Debug Skills

- Expert in Value Engineering & Component Identification & Sourcing

- Experience in PCB Layout tools

- Experience in C programming and embedded system development.

- Experience standard embedded peripheral devices (USB, I2C, SPI, LVDS, EPROM, E2PROM, NOR/NAND Flash, etc.)

- Experience with micro-controllers - Mandatory.

- Experience of Compliance & Standards such UL, FCC, CE

- The job requires clear understanding of the technicalities of the product and ability to translate the technical complexity of the system in simple software & hardware integration.

- Expert with microcontroller/microprocessor based Hardware Design & Development- Mandatory.

- Experience of the full product life cycle at a senior level
