Manager - Electrical Purchase - Steel Plant (8-14 yrs)

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE : 8 to 10 years
EDUCATION : Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, In addition Management certificate is an asset
COMPETENCE REQUIRED :
- Strong experience in procurement and supply chain
- Technical knowledge and experience with steel and iron plant equipment
- Possess a solid background in procurement of steel and iron industry
- Strong negotiation skills
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES on technical bases
- Handling supply management function encompassing vendor development for procurement of material and equipments
- Ensuring timely supplies specifically for electrical equipment, panels, systems, motors, etc.
- Proficient in implementing cost saving measures to achieve substantial reduction in terms of cost, raw materials etc.
- Involved in the preparation of Purchase order and rate contract/work orders, comparison charts and following up with suppliers for timely deliveries
- Liaising with finance department for timely release of payment to suppliers and project department for correct utilization of budget
- Liaising with suppliers for ensuring smooth operations and timely dispatches
- Interfacing with other applicable departments to discuss and provide solutions to regulatory issues, problems and/or strategy
- Sourcing of material from right supplier
- Evaluation of supplier offers commercially and technically
- Negotiate with supplier with best terms and conditions
- Process purchase order in SAP
- Resolve issues internally as well as externally with respect to technical and commercial conditions of PO
- Supplier selection, Supplier evaluation and carrying out supplier audit
- Settling claims with suppliers and/or contractors
