Manager - Maintenance (12-18 yrs)
Role Overview
The Manager - Maintenance is responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning of plant machinery, utility equipment, and infrastructure through preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance practices. The role demands strong leadership, technical expertise, and governance to drive maintenance excellence, cost control, and compliance with safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Critical Responsibilities (KCR)
- Develop Maintenance Schedules: Create and enforce detailed maintenance schedules to ensure operational reliability.
- Budgeting & Cost Control: Manage maintenance budgets, monitor expenses, and implement cost-control measures.
- Troubleshooting Specialist Equipment: Diagnose and repair issues with PLCs, VFDs, and other specialized equipment.
- Preventive & Predictive Maintenance: Implement strategies to maintain machine health and reduce downtime.
- Maintenance Excellence: Apply proven methodologies to improve maintenance practices.
- MTBF vs. MTTR: Drive improvements in Mean Time Between Failures and Mean Time to Repair.
- Energy Management: Implement strategies to reduce and control energy consumption.
- Utility Equipment Maintenance: Ensure proper upkeep of compressors, DG sets, cranes, and other utilities.
- Critical Spare Parts Management: Monitor and improve the lifecycle of critical spare parts.
- Communication: Maintain effective communication with client departments, customers, and colleagues.
- Health & Safety: Ensure compliance and continuous improvement of health and safety policies.
- Reporting: Prepare and submit weekly reports to management.
- Resource Planning: Allocate resources for machine maintenance effectively.
- Preventive Tasks: Oversee preventive maintenance activities through a team of specialists.
- Government Liaison: Coordinate with government bodies such as AEN/JEN as required.
Non-Critical Responsibilities (NCR)
- Study OEM manuals to stay updated on equipment requirements.
- Maintain communication with cross-functional teams.
- Ensure IMS system is updated and maintained.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives such as Kaizen and Poka Yoke.
- Drive energy-saving improvements.
- Coordinate with other departments for smooth operations.
- Resolve and manage workplace conflicts.
