Purpose of the Role :

- To strategize, lead & integrate a team of managers in the manufacturing system so as to anticipate & deliver market requirements, maintenance of operational efficiencies whilst simultaneously introducing contemporary manufacturing practices & systems in a climate of continuous improvement.

Dimensions of the Role :

Principal Accountabilities :

- Ensure that the manufacturing operations and resources are focused on the critical business imperatives and are in accordance with strategic directions and priorities.

- To ensure that the quality of the product manufactured is as per standards through establishment and review of quality systems.

- To ensure appropriate development of people so that desired levels of performance and appropriate levels of skills and knowledge is maintained.

- To ensure that all relevant costs (PE, inventories, wastes) are within targets and improving in line with targets / standards.

- Development of the manufacturing plan from the unit objectives and synergizing action plan within the team / other HODs / FM / HO to meet them.

- To ensure that the team remains committed towards continuous improvement by allowing new ideas / thoughts to be explored.

- To ensure adherence to EHS guidelines.

- To ensure compliance to all statutory norms.

- To benchmark and introduce contemporary manufacturing practices and systems on an ongoing basis.

- Planning and negotiating strategy pertaining to IR and its implementation.

- High level of understanding and experience in managing shop floor openings with responsibility of meeting manufacturing plan OTIF, Quality, Cost, Productivity and EHS.

Operating Network :

- Internal : Head, Human Resources, HR Heads and ERMs of other stakeholder businesses in Haridwar, HR teams of factories, Chief Manager of Haridwar Complex.

External: On-going contact and interaction with legal counsels and consultants in the areas of legal matters, L&D and HR. Industry and practitioners bodies, external regulatory authorities and government bodies.

Education :

B.Tech or M.Tech in Mech. / Chem. / Electrical / Electronic Engineering.

Work experience :

- 6 to 10 years of working experience with at least 5 years in personal care industry

- Engineering form a premier institute (IITs), OR 10+ years of experience post engineering from a next rung institute (RECs) with 8 years of experience in personal care industry.

Competencies :

- Process and equipment in personal care products :

- Product Knowledge

- Operating systems / tools (ERP-SAP for shop floor accounting: PP, MM module), WMS

- Quality Tools - PQRS, SPC, QMS, Six Sigma,TMP,Leon

- Principles and alternate models of Manufacturing

- Basic financial accounting

- FSO/LTA/Statutes

- Group Dynamics/appraisals/team building
