Manager - Mechanical Engineering (8-18 yrs)
Mechanical Engineering Manager
Responsibilities:
- Team Management: Oversee the Mechanical Engineering team, ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and quality accreditations.
- Design Coordination: Lead critical reviews of mechanical design work and coordinate resources to meet client specifications and project schedules.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Maintain effective working relationships with other disciplines and project teams.
- Resource Allocation: Allocate resources in consultation with the Engineering Manager.
- Performance Management: Conduct staff performance reviews and manage team training and development.
- Design and Drafting: Manage detailed mechanical design and drafting of projects, optimizing design processes and documentation.
- Meeting Participation: Attend and participate in internal and external project meetings and vendor meetings.
- Efficiency and Compliance: Ensure designs are completed efficiently and in accordance with budgets, specifications, and schedules.
Job Requirements:
- Experience: Over 18 years in mechanical engineering design of water/wastewater equipment and 8 years in a management role.
- Technical Standards: Strong understanding of ASME, ANSI, API, and Australian Standards.
- Equipment Knowledge: Expertise in static and rotating equipment designs, including pumps and energy recovery devices.
- Design Coordination: Previous experience in design coordination and management.
- Membrane Technologies: Strong understanding of RO and UF membrane technologies.
- Piping Standards: Knowledge of piping standards, classes, and materials.
- Pressure Vessels: Familiarity with ASME section VIII considered an advantage.
- Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and proficiency in AutoCAD or similar 3D design software.
- Quality Management: Working knowledge of ISO Quality Management Systems.
- Travel: Willingness to travel internationally as needed.
- Economic Principles: Understanding of Capex and Opex balance, and commercial and contractual impacts on technical designs.
