HIRING - DUTY OFFICER - ALUMINA PROCESS PLANT

Department: Operations / Production

Job Role: The Duty Officer is a shift-based role responsible for overall plant operation from the Control Room during the assigned shift.

Location: Chhattisgarh

Salary: Negotiable Based on experience, competency, and leadership capability

Qualification & Experience : 

B.E/ B.Tech - Chemical Engineering with min 15+ years of extensive experience in Alumina Refinery / Large Chemical / Metallurgical Process Plants. Proven exposure to plant-wide operations, safety leadership, and crisis handling.

- Ensure safe operation of the plant during the shift.

- Initiate immediate corrective actions to maintain zero incidents, a key KPI.

2. Shift Handover & Takeover

- Ensure smooth and detailed handover/takeover between shifts.

- Communicate pending jobs, abnormalities, and ongoing activities clearly.

3. Production & KPI Management

- Achieve shift-wise production and flow targets.

- Guide CROs on operating the plant as per target parameters.

4. Process Monitoring & Troubleshooting

- Monitor overall plant performance through DCS and control room data.

- Analyze process deviations and perform root cause analysis.

5. Control Room Operations

- Ensure smooth and flawless Control Room operations.

- Oversee tank levels, equipment status, and idling conditions during process isolation / de-isolation.

6. LOTO & Maintenance Coordination

- Ensure proper process isolation and de-isolation during maintenance.

7. Manpower Coordination

- All Shift Incharges and CROs functionally report to the Duty Officer during the shift.

- Assign shift-specific responsibilities to SI and CRO.

Key Skills & Competencies :

- Ability to analyze data and troubleshoot plant issues

- Good coordination and communication skills

- Knowledge of safety systems, SOPs, and LOTO

- Ability to work in rotating shifts
