Manager - Production Planning & Control (10-15 yrs)

Essential Qualification & Specialization :

- Diploma / B.E. / B. Tech (Mechanical, Mechatronics, Production, Industrial, Automobile)

- Experience working in the same profile for minimum 7 years

- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Practices, 6 Sigma, Production and Operations Methodologies.

- Meeting Production Targets, achieve productivity and Capacity Utilization, Reduce internal rejection and Assembly shop complaint reduction

Preferred Qualification & Specialization :

- Preferred from Instrumentation, Valves, Pumps, Compressors or similar MNCs.

Nature of job / KRA / KPA :

The role of PPC Manager shall be to ensure that materials and components are available when needed and that the production is planned according to the delivery requirements and runs in a planned manner. The end goal is the most efficient and profitable production possible.

- Plan on a Monthly, Weekly and Daily Production for Conventional and CNC machines.

- Use Lean Manufacturing Tools & Techniques and Six Sigma Methodologies implementation for making processes efficient.

- Develop and maintain Production and Testing Methodologies

- Customer OTD target of the organization is min. 95%. Make strategies for achievement of OTD.

- Work on reducing Internal and External Quality Issues and overall product and process quality enhancement. Focusing on Customer satisfaction.

- Focus on Productivity Improvement

- Drive Cost Reduction activities

- Inventory Control

- Monitoring of Tooling (Tools, Jigs and Fixtures) and their maintenance.

- Coordination between Cross Functional Teams and Leadership team.

- Leadership skills and team building.

- Lead ISO-9001, ISO-14001 and OHSAS 18001 activities related to Production Workshops

- Knowledge of various machining processes is essential to handle the machine shop.

- Handling various product and process certifications including welder qualification and IBR.

- Drive continuous improvement activities in all departments.

- Systems implementer.

- Coordinate with Sales & Marketing team for driving business plans and meeting customer demands.

- Lead new product development projects.

- Lead and face National and International level customer audits

- Handing workmen related issues, maintain discipline in the plant.

- Training and mentoring to team members.

Roles & Responsibilities :

- Prepare Master Production Plan - Scheduling the production cycle for all machines available inhouse (Includes Lathes, Drilling Machines, Milling Machines, Bandsaws, CNCs, VMC, VTL, Boring etc)

- Analyzing customer requirements and orders

- Analyzing loading capacity with Production head

- Plan detail work of materials with procurement team according to Production Plan

- Planning and prioritizing operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay

- Determining manpower, equipment and raw materials needed to cover production demand

- Update the Production plan according to requirements or any changes

- Co-ordinator with sales for future forecast of long lead material and any lead in the market

- Monitor Plan Vs Actual on daily basis with Production team

- Work with Engineering team for uniform loading to Production as customer requirement.

- Co-ordinator with customer and sales about their project and schedule

- Monitor WIP and inventory

- Participate in Shop floor meetings, project review meetings

- Coordinate production workflow for one or multiple products

- Plan and prioritize operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay

- Perform inventory management according to company policies.

- Determine manpower, equipment and raw materials needed to cover production demand

- Assign workers and other staff to particular production operations

- Monitor inventory status and generate inventory reports

- Monitor jobs to ensure they will finish on time and within budget

- Address issues when they arise aiming for minimum disruption

- Obtain output information (number of finished products, percentage of defectives etc.)

- Prepare and submit status and performance reports

- Keep paperwork organized

- Develop process improvements for inventory, manufacturing and production control systems.

- Evaluate production control activities to ensure that final product meets customer specifications.

- Plan equipment, material and manpower requirements to meet production schedule.

- Collaborate with quality control, warehouse and other staff

Soft Skills requirement :

- Good communication skills

- Analytical and Logical Thinking

- Fluent in English

- Computer savvy is must along with good knowledge of Excel formulae.

- Good leader, initiator, and confidant personality.
