Manager - Proto Vehicle Build & E and E Integration - Automotive R&D (7-18 yrs)
A leading automotive manufacturing and R and D organization is hiring a Manager to own proto vehicle build activities with strong focus on electrical and electronics systems. The role will lead end-to-end build execution, concern tracking, design reviews, and vehicle handover for validation, working closely with cross-functional engineering teams in ICE and EV programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end proto and pilot vehicle build execution as per MPDS guidelines
- Drive concern reporting, tracking, closure, and build sign-off activities
- Lead wiring harness layout, routing, and E and E component integration
- Represent build function in design reviews, DFMEA, packaging, and DMU reviews
- Ensure vehicle repair, retrofitment, and readiness for testing and validation
- Coordinate with design, packaging, testing, and interface teams for issue resolution
Ideal Candidate Profile
- 8- 10 years of experience in automotive vehicle build, proto shop, or R and D
- Strong hands-on expertise in automotive electrical and electronics systems
- Experience across ICE and EV vehicle programs
- Proficient in wiring harness design, routing, BOM understanding, and DMU reviews
- Strong analytical, planning, execution, and cross-functional coordination skills
- Willingness to work onsite full-time in Chennai
Strict Exclusions :
- Predominantly service, dealership, or maintenance-only backgrounds
- Pure testing roles without vehicle build or integration exposure
- Non-automotive industry experience
