Manager - Purchase - Automobile (6-10 yrs)
We have been retained by a leading automobile company for the Purchase Manager Role. 
The job description is as follow: 
- The primary function of this position is the timely and cost-effective purchasing of components to support the company's projects & production plans (Hydraulic Components & System, Tubes & Hoses, Cylinders, Electricals, etc. 
- Supporting the strategic procurement process, execution of domestic / overseas, supplier agreements to include negotiations, supplier selection/development, and contract management. Working with engineering/project management team to make sure that sourcing activities correspond to project needs. 
- The Buyer will coordinate activities with supply-chain, logistics, operations, warehouse and finance personnel in efforts to meet particular supply and demand goals. 
Few specific responsibilities : 
1) Supplier base management - Development of supplier base and induction of new suppliers, suppliers up-gradation and build long term agreement with suppliers. 
2) New components developments - Development of new components for new products as well for product improvement. 
3) ) To closely work with Supplier development team & pro-actively support in resolving all issues related to Quality & cost. 
4) To closely work with finance for resolving issues of supplier Debits/Credits wrt. Price changes, recharge to Supplier for Quality & expedite debits. 
5) To continuously work for optimizing material cost and creating healthy productivity pipeline to have sustainable cost reduction program. 
Key Requirements : 
- 6 to 10 years of experience 
- BE Mechanical & MBA 
- Microsoft Office 
- SAP knowledge preferred 
- General knowledge of Automotive/ manufacturing, industrial relations, logistics and procurement procedures and techniques. 
- Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal. 
- Must be able to work independently, as well as part of a team.
