Our client which is MNC is looking out for Manager Regulatory affairs based at Chennai Location.

Educational QualificationsMasters degree in Chemistry from a reputed institute.

Experience10+ years of experience in the Regulatory Affairs function of a Flavour/Fragrance/Cosmetic/Food/Beverage/Confectionery/bakery industries

Principal Accountability

Responsible for Regulatory affairs of Flavours and Fragrances for Out Client Private Limited

Provide required documents, permissibility details to internal and external customers on timely basis.

Use the SAP program to monitor the formulations in line with the regulations and provide replies to developers and customers on day today basis.

Prepare and issue complete regulatory documents within the defined lead time.

Prepare customer questionnaires and answer customer queries.

Interpret the existing rules and decide the permissibility for new molecules.

Understand raw material process and determine the permissibility.

keeping abreast of international legislation, guidelines and customer practices in all countries that the company is exporting to.

Collating and evaluating scientific data that has been researched / available in public domain on the products / ingredients of company interest

Providing strategic advice to senior management throughout the development of a new product and also brief about regulatory position to product development team on products under development .

Monitor amendments in drafts / legislations and advocate the Companys position with the appropriate authority within the regulatory framework.

Provide technical support to substantiate claim and label declarations.

Represent the Company in industry forums, articulate the Companys position effectively and when required, provide the necessary regulatory and technical support to strengthen the Companys position.

Engage in conducting risk assessments and risk analysis on key regulatory issues impacting business and advise senior management on such areas with suggested mitigation plans.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Sales, Operations, Category, Product Development and Quality Assurance) on regulatory compliance related to ingredients, formulations, hygiene practices and labeling requirements and ensure compliance with government regulations, policies and procedures and customer requirement.

Track and monitor changes in statutes and advice necessary changes in product / label / communication content to ensure compliance with the regulatory framework.

Monitor and influence all upcoming draft regulations / regulations. Represent matters on behalf of the company with regard to amendments in Food Laws.

Job-related Skills

Knowledge of food safety, food additives, product labeling, allergen,packaging related regulatory issues

Knowledge of statutes issues by statutory bodies like FSSAI,IFRA,FDA,IOFI,FEMA,GRAS, DRUG AND COSMETICS RULE
