Job Requirements :

- BE Chemical / Bachelor's or diploma in Environment or Industrial safety with min. 10 years of experience from similar Industry.

Purpose Statement :

- To disseminate Health, Safety & Environment policies, practices and procedures within the organization to promote a culture of highest health and safety standards. Also ensure compliance to statutory cum regulatory guidelines

Key Responsibilities :

Ensure safety induction training is imparted to all the employees (staff/contract)

- Responsible to drive behavior based safety initiatives

- Ensure Job safety analysis for all the jobs under permit system

- Conduct PSSR (Pre startup safety review), What IF etc., RCA (root cause analysis) etc. as and when required

- Conduct process safety risk analysis and HAZOP (Hazardous operability) studies along with process teams and internal OS&H audit as per applicable rules to site

- Implement HSE training programs based on the needs of the site Identify and report environmental exposure to the concerned plant/division head

- Coordinate for mutual aid with neighboring companies & VECC (Vapi emergency control center)

- Ensure Compliance to third party/customer safety audits and compliance of relevant statutory requirements

- Report accidents/incident/dangerous occurrences to immediate superior & divisional/cluster head

- Ensure use of necessary PPE (Personal protective equipment) by company employees and contract workers

- Coordinate for safety study and upgrade/revise HSE documents as and when required

- Monitor work permit system and its compliance on a regular basis

- Implement best housekeeping and industrial hygiene practices at site for reducing chemical exposures at work place

- Maintain records of occupational diseases as per factories act and ensure periodical medical checkup of the employees in coordination with company medical officer

- Contribute and work closely with the process team and assess all HSE related aspects such as MSDS, Chemical safety, process hazard, risks assessments and mitigation

- Coordinate with dispatch department, marketing department and transport department at the time of any emergency during transit of hazardous goods

- Ensure daily internal plant inspection of operational yards, storage yards, & plant and ensure safe condition for pressure vessel, lifting tools & tackles, boilers etc.

- Regular review of on/off site emergency plan and update changes and ensure adequate training is provided to the ERT (Emergency response team) on a regular basis

- Provide information on safety and environmental concerns of our products to our customers on demand

- Follow and practice zero tolerance procedure for safety monitoring and ensure daily plant inspection for the same

- Maintain quality standards (ISO-14001/9001/TFS/OHSAS in terms of execution, documentation and hold accountable for the compliance of the same in context to HSE guidelines and practices

- Keep safety team updated for their roles & responsibilities & assign the jobs on daily basis according to the site activities

- Plan, coordinate and organize regular safety committee meetings, monthly reviews and seminars etc. for further improvement of the safety standards

- Coordinate with all central safety committee members for compliance of points discussed in monthly safety committee meeting

- Promote & organize the safety celebrations & other safety awareness programs at site
