PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES :

- Planning of Soil & Water Conservation interventions according to Umoja Program in rural parts of East Africa

- Developing implementation plan for various SWC activities with specific timeline

- Coordination with local Government authorities and community leaders

- Fund management of planned activities, its budgetary planning and provisions

- Developing project based planning and its proposal for approval from management

- Project activity monitoring and evaluation

- Project MIS management

- Developing project progress reports and sharing with the program head

- Responsible for cost effective program planning and its successful implementation

- Developing program partnership with local NGOs and other likeminded resource agencies

- Efficiency Improvement at all levels /future new units & due reviews & follow ups.

- Developing low cost interventions for soil and water conservation

- Ensuring community participation

- Developing Control System for effective project management.

- Responsible for measurable outcomes of projects

- Training and capacity building of local staff and community leaders

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED FOR THE POSITION :

- Knowledge of rural development projects, particularly Tribal areas

- Understanding of rural community needs, their internal dynamics and skilled to manage community

- Basic knowledge of low cost soil and water conservation interventions, its survey, design and implementation

- Skilled in project planning in SWC and its effective implementation

- Should having Basic Technical knowledge of SWC structure design, field survey and impact assessment

- Skilled in project concept development and project proposal preparation

- B. Tech/M. Tech in Agriculture Engineering or suitable qualification in Soil and water conservation & with minimum 5 years of experience in Soil and Water Conservation, Integrated Watershed Management

- Ready to travel in remote areas

- Fluency in English speaking is must
