Job description
Responsibilities:
- To manage a team of 15 Toolmakers / engineers / Machinists/supervisors
- To manage the machine shop and allocate jobs
- To maintain spares based on tools wear tear
- To maintain daily work logs, receipt, and completion of work orders
- To make improvements in reduction of breakdowns
- Have a reasonable knowledge of CAD / CAM / CNC milling / CNC EDM and other conventional machines
- Have adequate knowledge of welding TIG / MIG / micro-welding.
- Have adequate knowledge of steels/composites / heat treatment
- Good knowledge of tool design / interpret drawings / sub-components
- To prepare change matrix and or drawings whenever needed
- To coordinate with Production / Store for inventory and planning of tools on time
- Attend daily / weekly production meetings and prepare action plans for day/week
- Daily reporting of status and updates on ERP system.
- Reasonable knowledge of measuring instruments like CMM / smart scope etc.,
- Should be able to support in emergencies by adding extra effort/time and weekends/holidays
- To manage a set of 400 tools / spares / accessories / hot runners etc.,
- To order spares in a timely manner to avoid line stoppages and or delays.
