Job Description: Marine Structural Engineer

Location: Mumbai, India

Experience Level: 3-5 Years

Education: Master's Degree in Structural Engineering (or related field)

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Marine Structural Engineer with 3 to 5 years of experience in the design and analysis of offshore and onshore structures. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of structural engineering principles, a proven track record in marine and coastal projects, and a master's degree in Structural Engineering (or related field).

Key Responsibilities:

- Perform structural analysis and design for various marine and onshore structures, including but not limited to:

- Offshore platforms (fixed and floating)

- Subsea structures and foundations

- Jetties, wharves, and piers

- Breakwaters and coastal protection structures

- Onshore facilities within port and harbour environments

- Vessel mooring and berthing systems

- Develop detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and reports.

- Conduct complex finite element analysis (FEA) using industry-standard software.

- Perform hand calculations and review engineering designs to ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards (e.g., API, AISC, DNV, ABS, Eurocodes), and project specifications.

- Participate in all project phases from conceptual design to detailed engineering, construction support, and commissioning.

- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including naval architects, geotechnical engineers, mechanical engineers, and project managers.

- Prepare technical proposals and presentations for clients.

- Assist in the mentoring and guidance of junior engineers.

- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and regulations.

- Conduct site visits and inspections as required.

Required Qualifications:

- Master's degree in Structural Engineering, Ocean Engineering, Civil Engineering with a structural specialization, or a closely related field.

- 3-5 years of progressive experience in marine and/or offshore structural design and analysis.

- Proficiency in structural analysis software such as STAAD Pro, SACS, ABAQUS, ANSYS, or similar.

- Strong understanding of steel and concrete design principles.

- Familiarity with relevant international codes and standards (e.g., API RP 2A, DNVGL-OS-C101, AISC, Eurocodes, etc.).

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

- Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar drafting software.

Desired Skills (Optional but a plus):

- Professional Engineer (PE) license or working towards licensure.

- Experience with dynamic analysis of structures.

- Knowledge of fatigue analysis and fracture mechanics.

- Familiarity with/ knowledge of relevant Technical Specification for construction contractors

- Familiarity with offshore installation procedures.

- Project management experience.
