Mastercam Programmer (5-6 yrs)
Mastercam Programmer develops, tests, and optimizes CNC programs for manufacturing, specifically for Milling, Turning, and VMC/HMC machines. Key responsibilities include creating toolpaths, selecting tooling, designing fixtures, reducing cycle times, and interpreting 3D models/blueprints. This role typically requires 5+ years of experience in CAM software and knowledge of G-code/M-code.
Key Responsibilities and Duties :
Programming & Optimization : Generate, edit, and troubleshoot CNC programs (3, 4, or 5-axis) using Mastercam, ensuring high precision.
Process Improvement : Optimize toolpaths, speeds, and feeds to minimize cycle time and enhance production efficiency.
Technical Support : Interpret technical drawings, 3D CAD models, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) specifications.
Setup & Tooling : Design necessary jigs and fixtures; select appropriate cutting tools for manufacturing.
Collaboration : Work with operators and engineers to troubleshoot machine issues and validate programs through simulation or dry runs.
Documentation : Maintain proper CNC documentation, including set-up sheets and program files.
Requirements and Qualifications :
Education : Diploma or BE/BTech in Mechanical, Production, or Aerospace Engineering.
Experience : 2- 7+ years of experience in CNC programming, specifically using Mastercam.
Technical Skills : Proficient in CAD software (SolidWorks/NX), understanding of material properties, and expertise in G-code/M-code.
Knowledge : Deep understanding of cutting tools, machining, and GD&T.
Preferred Skills :
- Exposure to Multi-axis machining (4/5 axis).
- Experience in aerospace (AS9100) or high-precision manufacturing industries.
- Familiarity with simulation tools like Vericut.
