Mechanical Design Engineer (6-7 yrs)
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with 6- 7 years of expertise in machine design to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in concept development, mechanical calculations, and CAD modeling using Siemens UG NX. You will be responsible for designing mechanical systems, selecting components, and ensuring product performance and manufacturability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop concept designs for new machines, assemblies, and mechanical systems based on project requirements.
- Perform mechanical design calculations (e.g., strength, stress, tolerance, and fit analysis).
- Create and modify 3D CAD models and 2D drawings using UG NX.
- Select appropriate mechanical components such as bearings, seals, fasteners, motors, and couplings based on application requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, electrical, and procurement.
- Ensure that designs comply with industry standards, safety norms, and cost-effectiveness.
- Conduct design reviews and implement feedback for continuous improvement.
- Provide support during prototyping, testing, and validation stages.
- Maintain thorough documentation for design history and technical data.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 6- 7 years of hands-on experience in mechanical/machine design.
- Proficiency in UG NX for CAD modeling and drafting.
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals and design standards.
- Experience in selecting standard mechanical components (bearings, seals, gears, etc.).
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and DFM/DFA principles.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple design tasks efficiently.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
