Job Summary

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with experience in electric motor and drivetrain development for EV applications. The role involves mechanical design, analysis, validation, and documentation of electric motor components and transmission systems.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and drafting of mechanical components and assemblies using CAD tools

- Preparation of 2D drawings, 3D models, tolerance stack-up analysis, and manufacturing specifications

- Perform mechanical calculations for parts and assemblies

- Conduct DFMEA and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) / Design for Assembly (DFA) studies

- Design and development of EV motor components considering structural and thermal requirements

- Design transmission systems including belt drives and gearboxes

- Support structural and thermal analysis (Ansys/CFD)

- Benchmark electric motors (BLDC, PMSM, Induction, Axial Flux, SRM)

- Prepare technical documentation such as design reports, BOM, FMEA, and change notices

- Work cross-functionally with simulation, validation, and manufacturing teams

- Manage BOM in SAP/PLM/Windchill systems

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Production Engineering

- 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in electric motor or EV drivetrain applications

- Experience in EV motor design and development preferred

Required Technical Skills

- Proficiency in CAD tools: Creo, Pro/E, AutoCAD (Ansys preferred)

- Experience in electric motor housing and rotor design

- Experience in transmission system design (belt drives, planetary gearboxes)

- Knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and tolerance stack-up

- Experience in structural and thermal analysis (CFD/Ansys)

- Familiarity with SAP, Windchill, or other PLM/ERP systems

- Understanding of motor validation standards and manufacturing processes

Preferred Skills

- Experience in electric scooter or EV drivetrain development

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

- Good communication and documentation skills
