Life of a Research and Development Manager

Research and Development Manager is responsible for supporting and executing research and development activities in order to continuously improve/ innovate Microtek LED products and maintain a competitive edge in the LED market

Your credentials:

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business or any other field with minimum 8 to 12 years experience

- Research & Development experience, preferred

Research and Development Activities

Enable

- Conceptualize and develop consumer relevant prototypes for Microtek business

- Research, develop and deliver functional benefits through new product technology

- Research local markets- needs and preferences to enable the business in delivering the right products

- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure optimization of various activities like packaging keeping in mind the end customers-Government, Institutions, and Distributors etc.

- Create, develop and maintain functional capabilities (Patents, Regulatory Management, Large Scale Innovations, Safety Checks, Environmental Assurance, Quality Checks) to accelerate, protect and differentiate through innovative product offerings

- Conceptualize and develop sustainable innovations that help Microtek achieve and maintain competitive advantage

- Support Market Assessment and Ideation Executive in scouting new geographies for potential selling of Microtek LED products

Control:

- Manage research to decipher new, innovative trends in the market and suggest improvisations in packaging/labelling of the Microtek LED products

Leadership:

- Provide functional guidance as and when required to the direct reportees and team members

- Monitor and evaluate performance of direct reportees and guide them in managing their performance by providing appropriate feedback

Additional Responsibilities

- Liaise with business heads for introducing new products as per the Annual Operating Plans, meeting the cost and timelines expectations

- Liaise with marketing team for devising marketing strategies on new innovations in the Microtek LED products

- Work closely with quality and procurement team to ensure that the efficiency and quality norms are met on the existing and new products

- Liaise with business heads for understanding their requirements and ideology behind innovation in the type of products they are offering

- Liaise with business heads to understand any new kind of product/ initiative/ innovation Microtek wishes to introduce

Experience Required :- 8 to 12 Yrs ( Prior Experience in LED Product is required )

Educational Qualification : B-Tech / M-Tech ( Electrical or Electronics )
