Senior Manager MEP (Electrical)

The ideal candidate will be responsible for end-to-end electrical project execution including power distribution, HT/LT systems, switchyard commissioning, transformer/inverter setup, and MEP utilities integration.

The role demands deep expertise in electrical project management, hands-on problem-solving, vendor coordination, and compliance with safety and statutory norms.

Key Responsibilities:

Electrical Project Execution & Infrastructure Setup:

- Lead electrical works for plant infrastructure including power distribution, substations, HT/LT switchgear, transformers, and control panels.

- Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of MEP electrical systems and high-voltage equipment.

- Ensure uninterrupted power supply for plant operations including process equipment, utility systems, and cleanroom environments.

- Coordinate design, execution, and integration of MEP services across module and cell lines.

Planning, Monitoring & Resource Optimization:

- Develop and track project schedules, ensure adherence to execution milestones, and optimize resource utilization.

- Coordinate with consultants, design teams, and construction contractors for timely execution of electrical works.

- Prepare BOQs, technical specifications, and monitor project cost against budgeted estimates.

- Ensure documentation, drawings, and change requests are updated as per project execution flow.

Compliance & Safety:

- Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols during installation and commissioning activities.

- Conduct electrical safety audits, implement earthing, lightning protection, and LOTO practices.

- Ensure compliance with statutory and industry standards including IE Rules, CEIG, and Factory Act provisions.

- Support statutory inspections, approvals, and interface with local electricity boards.

Vendor & Contractor Coordination:

- Evaluate, finalize, and manage contracts for electrical system suppliers and installation vendors.

- Conduct vendor performance reviews and ensure delivery timelines, workmanship quality, and safety compliance.

- Coordinate logistics, manpower planning, and technical support for contractor mobilization on-site.

Team Supervision & Interface Management:

- Lead a team of engineers, supervisors, and technicians during execution and handover phases.

- Liaise with mechanical, utility, HVAC, and automation teams for cross-functional MEP coordination.

- Ensure proper documentation, red-marked drawings, test reports, and handover packages are compiled for final approvals.

Key Skills & Requirements:

Experience:

- Minimum 10 years in MEP Electrical execution for industrial or solar projects.

- Experience in manufacturing plant electrification and high-voltage systems is essential.

Technical Skills:

- Strong knowledge of power distribution systems, HT/LT switchgear, transformer installations, and SCADA-based control systems.

- Experience in switchyard commissioning, cleanroom electricals, and backup power systems.

- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Project, and electrical load calculation tools.

- Familiarity with Indian Electricity Rules, CEIG norms, and safety regulations.

Soft Skills:

- Excellent leadership, communication, and contractor management skills.

- Problem-solving mindset with an ability to handle execution pressures on large-scale projects.

- Strong documentation and reporting capabilities.

- Team coordination and ability to interface with multiple stakeholders.
