Role Description: Product Manager - Charging

OYE! is a shared electric micro-mobility service for the masses. We connect people with public transportation & demand hubs, and provide an ecosystem for drivers. The company was founded in 2017 and has been funded by investors - Matrix Partners, Hero Family, Chiratae (IDG) Ventures, Xiaomi, Falcon Edge Capital among others. Our latest venture is in the space of energy services - we are setting up a distributed lithium-ion battery swap network for supporting e-rickshaw based mass micro-mobility.

Your Role at Oye Rickshaw!

- Play an integral part of the Energy Services unit, lead the product development of our swapping stations by collaborating with our engineering partners

- Development of detailed system level requirements & architecture for the station

- Define power quality requirements, ensure compliance with the relevant electricity grid & safety standards

- Ensure quality in development process through application of techniques like FMEA

- Responsible for the seamless integration of station, charger and battery pack system, ensure the system is thoroughly tested in the development phase

- Work with our engineering partners to optimize the design for performance and drive down product cost

- Development of charging & communication protocol between the station & battery and station & Oye server

- Work closely with our service team & engineering partners in the root cause analysis for any issues arising in the field

- Clear thinking : Be extremely comfortable in dealing with high levels of ambiguity and complexity, ability to have a clear view of the situation & propose timely actions

- Problem solving skills : You have the ability to drill down complex problem statements to small tractable pieces, run trade-offs to choose the best path possible and be flexible

- Agile : Our start-up is a fast-paced dynamic set up, meaning we will have change of plans and fast paced execution. Being Agile is important 

Required skills and qualifications :

- Experience : 3-4 yrs, B.E/ B.Tech or M.Tech in Electrical or Electronics engineering

- Worked with startups/companies in the domain of EV charging systems and been a key part of system development. Understanding of EV battery data is highly preferred

- Knowledge of power electronics, charging system standards and backend protocols like OCPP/MQT
