Job Summary

The Piping Fitter is responsible for the installation, alignment, assembly, and fitting of fuel piping systems according to project drawings, specifications, and safety standards. The role involves working with carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy piping used in fuel transfer, storage, and distribution systems within EPC construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

1. Piping Installation:

- Install fuel piping systems as per isometric drawings, P&IDs, and construction drawings.Perform pipe routing, cutting, threading, and fitting activities. Assemble pipes, fittings, valves, flanges, and supports.

2. Fit-Up and Alignment: Carry out fit-up activities for welding including alignment of pipes and fittings. Ensure proper leveling, spacing, and orientation of piping components. Check pipe slope requirements for fuel transfer lines.

3. Support Installation: Install pipe supports, clamps, hangers, guides, and anchors. Ensure correct positioning according to support drawings.

4. Material Handling: Identify piping materials such as: Pipes,,Elbows,Tees,Reducers,Valves.Flanges. Verify material specifications and tagging before installation.

5. Pre-commissioning Support: Assist in hydro testing, flushing, and air blowing of fuel piping systems. Support leak testing and pressure testing activities.

6. Quality Compliance: Ensure piping installation meets project quality standards and tolerances. Follow approved method statements and inspection procedures. Coordinate with QA/QC inspectors during inspections.

7. Safety Compliance: Follow HSE rules for working in fuel handling areas. Ensure proper use of PPE (helmet, gloves, safety shoes, goggles, etc.). Maintain safe working practices in hazardous areas.

Required Skills:

Ability to read Piping Isometric Drawings. Knowledge of P&ID interpretation Understanding of fuel piping systems Experience in flange alignment and bolt tightening Knowledge of pipe fitting tools and equipment Basic understanding of pipe supports

Tools & Equipment Knowledge: Pipe cutting machines Grinding machines Pipe threading machines Spirit level and measuring tools Chain blocks and lifting tools Alignment tools

Qualification: ITI / Technical Trade Certificate in Pipe Fitting / Mechanical

Trade certification preferred

Experience : 2- 4 years experience in piping installation

- Experience in fuel systems, oil & gas, refinery, tank farms, or EPC projects preferred

Physical Requirements :

- Ability to work at heights and confined spaces Capable of handling heavy piping materials Fit for construction site conditions

- Candidate Having working experience in Oil & Gas Projects, Fuel Storage Terminals, Airport Fuel Hydrant Systems,Refineries, Petrochemical Plants & Power Plants Preferred
