Piping Stress Engineering Professional (5-20 yrs)

Mode of Employment : Direct & Permanent role with the client.

Mode of Work : Work from Office - WFO | MON - FRI

Work Location : Chennai, Perungudi.

Required Skill set:

- Proficient 5 - 15 + years of working experience as Stress Engineer in Boilers, Piping, ductwork & pressure parts.

- Good working experience in Caesar / AutoPIPE.

- Good experience in reading boiler general arrangements, detail drawings, piping layouts, pipe isometric drawings, pipe support details and P&IDs is required.

- Working knowledge of ASME BPVC Section I, Section XIII, and B31.1/B31.3 and weld design per AWS D1.1/D1.3 & ASME Section IX.

- STAAD Pro, 3D modelling / drafting tools such as AutoCAD 2D / 3D, Plant 3D, Inventor, Creo experience with ANSYS or other FEA experience is a plus.

- Professional Engineering (PE) license is a plus.

- Knowledge of Navisworks (including model integration, clash checks, etc.).

- Excellent - communication (written & Oral), analytical, data handling & Computer (Including MS Office) skills.

- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously & meet deadlines.

- A valid passport & ready to travel (domestic & international) is required.

Roles & Responsibilities:

- Proposal development & estimates of man-hours & materials.

- To design & analysis of various structures such as ductwork, frame structures, skids, piping, pressure parts & supports.

- Generation of load diagrams for equipment / duct support / steel frame loads.

- To ensure the structural integrity of piping, ductwork, pressure parts & supports for the constructability of the structure.

- Site assessment, investigation & securing of information needed for an accurate development of ductwork & piping arrangements & proposals.

- To prepare 3D analysis of models for new & altered designs and provide analysis results (in an effective form as required - written, marked up drawings, sketches, spreadsheets, presentation) on the work performed.

- Preparation of technical & fabrication specifications.

- To manage subcontracting engineering work & monitor the work product of vendors, including schedule, budget, scope requirements, technical review & deliverables.

- To check the prepared drawings, bill of materials, and designs, to ensure they meet applicable codes, standards, ISO instructions & project specifications.

- To ensure project adherence to the schedule.

- To review & critically analyze project specifications & documents to ensure design compliance highlighting areas in need of exception, clarification, or noting deviations for universal acceptance.

- Through constant communications with other department personnel and disciplines, provide continuing standards and department guideline updates to reflect advanced and state of the art design concepts.

- To participate in meetings with customer- s, engineering consultants or other company affiliated units when meetings are held on issues that require direct involvement. Travel, as required, for participation in these meetings or for resolution of field-encountered issues.

- Track man-hours to provide feedback to the team and functional manager on graphics man-hour expenditures per project

- Meet periodically with the functional manager to discuss team successes and failures, new design concepts, productivity enhancements, need for additional tools, etc. to provide uniformity between teams and allow growth from the experiences of other teams

- To provide design interface with other team members (construction, shop, fabrication, purchasing, vendors, etc).

- To provide leadership & accountability, design assistance in meetings with customers (as requested by the PE / PM), as well as internal design freeze, first of a kind, potential problem analysis, and lessons learned meetings.
