Job Title: PLS-CADD Designer

Location : Hyderabad, India (On-site Only)

Role Summary :

- The PLS-CADD Design Engineer will be responsible for the detailed engineering, modeling, and design of overhead transmission and/or distribution lines using PLS-CADD / PLS-POLE / PLS-TOWER software.


- The role involves developing accurate, construction-ready designs by applying engineering principles, industry standards, and client specifications.

- The engineer will work closely with project managers, senior engineers, and construction teams to ensure safe, cost-effective, and code-compliant line designs while supporting projects through the full lifecycle- from initial modeling to construction support

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering/Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.

- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience using PLS-CADD for overhead transmission and/or distribution line projects.

- Strong understanding of overhead line design principles, conductor behavior, and clearance requirements.

- Working knowledge of industry codes such as NESC, ASCE 74, and ASCE 48.

- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, survey data, and technical specifications.

Primary Responsibilities

- Develop and refine PLS-CADD models based on client requirements, including route finalization, constraint identification, M4 model creation, wire stringing, and structural analysis.

- Prepare complete construction packages, including plan profiles, structure drawings, and supporting documentation.

- Provide real-time support for construction issues, offering technical guidance and model adjustments as needed.

- Ensure all designs adhere to relevant standards such as ASCE 74, ASCE 48, and NESC codes.

- Collaborate with project teams on geotechnical assessments, sag-tension calculations, and optimization.

Preferred Skills

- Experience with AutoCAD for preparation and modification of engineering drawings.

- Exposure to Python or Auto LISP for automation and efficiency in CAD or design workflows.

- Experience working on gen-tie projects, renewable energy interconnections, or utility-scale transmission projects.

- Familiarity with monopole and lattice tower design concepts.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
