Job Description - Power Manager:

Qualifications - Degree in Electrical Engineering or any related subject

Experience 18 - 22 Years

Note: Knowledge & Experience of Nigeria landscape preferred

Technical Requirements :

1. Diesel Generators :

1. The group has diesel generators ranging from 10 kVA to 1,500 kVA across Nigeria. Regular maintenance, troubleshooting, and major overhaul experience is key to support group companies effectively.

2. Gas Generators :

1. We have established power houses with multiple gas generators from Clarke Energy (Jenbacher engines) and GPI (MWM engines) with installed capacity of close to 35-40 Mw. Regular maintenance, troubleshooting, and major overhaul experience is key to support group companies effectively.

2. Recommending the spare parts necessary for various intervals of servicing basis vendor proposal and actual requirement.

3. Syncing of gas generators and diesel generators optimal usage of diesel generators.

3. New Projects Advisory :

1. Experience with planning the electricals for new projects - cables, switchgears, control and distribution panels, distribution and power transformers.

4. Exposure to solar power projects. :

1. We have installed about 2.5 Mw of Solar Power across different companies of the group and are looking to add another 3 Mw of Solar Power supported with BESS for multiple projects. Knowledge & experience of Solar Power, Batteries & Hybrid Inverters is required to oversee the current & new installations.

2. Knowledge in maintenance of Solar Panels to ensure highest efficiency of Power generation as per rated capacity.

5. Basic knowledge of Heat Recovery systems, Transformers, Overhead Power lines & other means of Power generation & distribution will be useful.

Managerial Requirements :

1. Manage team of expats and local staff effectively for maintenance of gensets across the group. Manage sub-ordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs, resolve problems and manage resources effectively to support the Power requirements from all our group companies.

2. Continually visit group sites to review gensets utilization and power requirements to recommend improvements and power reduction solutions.

3. Ensure to monitor gas generator spares inventory and orders for future orders. Track critical gas generator spares inventory across locations.

4. Oversee central powerhouse operations effectively with continual monitoring of load, power consumption, gensets status and recommend improvements for reducing power consumption.

4. Develop, coordinate and implement strategies and policies to reduce energy consumption.

5. Keep accurate records and regularly collect energy monitoring data and benchmark energy consumptions against best practice guidelines.

6. Direct the implementation of preventive maintenance, emergency and operational plans and procedures.

7. Good commercial knowledge in handling all Power related purchase orders.

8. Basic Microsoft Excel & Power point skills are minimum requirement for this role.
