Principal Engineer - Vehicle Integration - Passenger Car/SUV (14-23 yrs)
A leading automotive OEM is hiring a Principal Engineer - Vehicle Integration to lead end-to-end integration for ground-up passenger car and SUV programs. The role owns complete vehicle packaging, architecture, and system integration across functions, ensuring optimal cost, quality, performance, weight, and compliance throughout the product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead vehicle integration for new, ground-up passenger vehicle programs.
- Define overall vehicle architecture, hard points, layouts, and modularity across variants.
- Integrate all vehicle systems while balancing cost, quality, performance, and weight.
- Drive cross-functional alignment with CAE, NVH, crash, safety, homologation, manufacturing, service, and system COEs.
- Own interface resolution, vehicle package open points, and BOM governance.
- Identify vehicle integration risks and proactively escalate to senior leadership.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- 15+ years of experience in vehicle integration, vehicle architecture, or ergonomics.
- Strong background in passenger car and SUV platforms within automotive OEMs.
- Proven experience leading teams of 8- 15 senior engineers and engineering leads.
- Deep knowledge of vehicle architecture, ergonomics, regulatory requirements, and system interfaces.
- Hands-on expertise with CATIA, 3DS, TC-Visualization, DMU tools, and MS Office.
- Willingness to work full-time onsite in Chennai.
