Process Engineer - Carbon Reduction (18-30 yrs)
Experience: 15+ years in upstream processes
Industry: Oil & Gas (Onshore, Offshore, LNG, Gas Treatment Facilities)
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Chemical Engineer to support Exploration & Production (E&P) assets by performing system-level studies, analyzing GHG emissions, and providing process optimization recommendations. The ideal candidate will have expertise in flare gas recovery, process simulation, energy efficiency, and revamp/troubleshooting studies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct system-level studies for Separation, Gas Processing, Compression, Flare & Vent Systems (HP/LP), and other upstream processes.
- Guide PQLA engineers in data collection related to energy use, venting, flaring, and GHG quantification.
- Perform process simulations, heat & mass balance development, and process calculations such as:
- Blowdown/Depressurization (MDMT) studies
- Thermal design of heat exchangers
Pipeline surge analysis
- Line & equipment sizing
- Provide recommendations for GHG reduction and ensure compliance with industry flaring norms.
- Support revamp studies by predicting equipment performance under different operating conditions.
- Conduct troubleshooting studies to compare actual vs. theoretical performance and recommend improvements.
- Review and validate process documents (PFDs, P&IDs, C&EDs, PSFDs, Safe Charts, etc.).
- Endorse Equipment Datasheets and Instrument Process Datasheets for control valves, flow elements, and pressure safety valves.
- Assist in HAZOP & HAZID studies and ensure seamless technical interface across teams.
- Work with PI modules (PI ProcessBook, PI Vision, PI Data Extraction) for process monitoring and optimization.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- 15+ years of experience in upstream oil & gas process engineering.
- Strong understanding of process variables and their impact on energy efficiency & CO2 reduction.
- Expertise in process simulation and modeling.
- Deep knowledge of industry flaring norms and best practices for flare gas recovery.
- Experience in project development and execution.
- Proficiency in HAZOP & HAZID studies.
- Strong technical communication skills to support interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and provide strategic recommendations.
