Process Head - Product & Process Quality (10-15 yrs)

Job Description :

If the job holder - 'Process Head-Product and Process Quality' is given additional responsibility as the 'Management Representative' of the QMS, then the JD for "Process Head-Management Systems" additionally applies to this position.

All activities are to be performed according to documented procedures and work instructions of the Quality Management System.

Determine who the interested parties are (Customer, Government (legal /statutory requirements), etc.), and the requirements of these interested parties; monitor and review information about these interested parties and their relevant / respective requirements. (Job holder is the main 'face of the organization' to the Customer with regard to their requirements.)

Establish, document, implement and maintain the Quality management processes for the product / service, to ensure that the customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements relevant to the product/service are determined, understood and consistently met.

Determine the risks and opportunities that need to be addressed to give assurance that the quality management processes w.r.t. the product / service can achieve its intended result (i.e. meet customer specifications and requirements). Address these risks and opportunities, plan and implement actions in the quality management processes for product / service, and evaluate the effectiveness of the actions.

From the information on requirements of interested parties, establish quality objectives for products and processes at relevant functions, levels and processes.

Establish the need / requirement for resources (People, infrastructure, environment for operation of processes, monitoring and measuring, calibration, knowledge for operation of processes) to achieve conformity of products and services to specified requirements.

Ensure that people who are doing work (i.e. inspection, testing, auditing) that affects the conformity of products and services are competent on the basis of appropriate education, training or experience. Communicate to them and train them on the relevant and necessary information regarding the product and services and the quality management processes.

Ensure that people who are doing work that affects the conformity of products and services are made aware of the quality policy, quality objectives, the implications of not conforming to the quality management processes, and their contribution to the effectiveness of the quality management processes including the benefits of improved performance.

Create, update, control (including distribution, storage/preservation, control of changes, retention and disposition) and maintain documented information required to achieve conformity of products and services to specified requirements.

Plan, define, document and control the processes which are needed to assure the quality of products/services. These include-(1) communication with the customer, (2) determination of the requirements for products / services, (2) criteria for processes and acceptance of products and services, (3) documentation, including records of conformity of processes and products (inspections/audits), (4) applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, (5) review of the requirements for products and services (these need to be documented and retained), (6) changes to requirements for products and services)

Control the processes, products and services provided from external sources (suppliers of raw materials, parts, components, sub-assemblies) according to documented procedures for the same and to the extent required to assure product and process quality.

Conduct inspections and audits on products and processes to monitor the quality of the product / process, at various stages of the product realization process (design and development, purchasing, storage and preservation, production and service provision, release of products and services, control of changes, control of nonconforming outputs, delivery, post-delivery activities, .

To meet conformity to requirements (customers' requirements including customer satisfaction / dissatisfaction, customer complaints, statutory and regulatory requirements, requirements of products and processes), determine what needs to be monitored and measured and the methods and stages in the product realization processes for monitoring, measurement, analysis and evaluation.

Analyse and evaluate appropriate data and information arising from monitoring and measurement. Initiate, lead, drive, and ensure that corrective actions on non conconforming producs and processes are implemented by the concerned process owner. Inspect / audit, approve and release the product and process based on the actions taken.

Lead and drive sustainable improvements in the organization through continual improvement in the areas of product quality, process quality, through the application of effective communication techniques, PDCA cycle, 8-D /DMAIC, etc.. Present the information and results of the corrective actions and improvement activities to Management for review.

Job holder should possess inherent analytical capability, initiative and attitude to improve own knowledge mainly through self-study, and where required through external training .

Management representative of a Quality Management System - QMS at 'Manager' level.

TRAINING :Internal Auditor's course (QMS / EMS) / Lead Auditor's course from a reputed organization.

Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Potential Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), Control Plan (CP), Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA), Statistical Process Control (SPC)

P-D-C-A Cycle, 8-D/DMAIC problem solving methodology, '6-Sigma' (Yellow/Green Belt)

- Should possess good knowledge of 'MS-OFFICE' and internet operations on the computer, including information security precautions for the same.

- Around 10-15 years in an engineering industry (preferably mass production) manufacturing electrical, electronics, plastic moulded durable consumer products.

5-8 years experience in the Quality/Process Engineering functions essential as a part of the total 10-15 years of experience.

- At least 1 year as Management representative of a Quality Management System - QMS at 'Manager' level.

Education-

UG: Any Graduate - Any Specialization
