Job Responsibilities & Requirements:

KEY RESULT AREAS:

Deliveries:

- Product Designer will be responsible to produce designs which are great in ergonomics and aesthetics while enhancing function.

- He would be accountable to create a consistent design language/theme for all aspects of a product.

- The incumbent will be conducting research and creating design proposals, produce final drawings and specifications including engineering details.

- He will be required to make samples of working models for demonstration and validate product

- designs and recommend improvements.

Design foundation & Practices:

- To ensure ruggedization and reliability enhancement through designs backed by strong engineering fundamentals that can consistently deliver top-class manufactured products to meet the best quality and reliability standards.

- Establish the design brief, including the concept, performance and production criteria.

- To ensure that product design meet quality standards, review and revise engineering specifications for products to meet customer needs

- Adhere to best manufacturing practices to leverage the most of known manufacturing techniques and processes.

Product/Technology Domains preferred [any/many of the following]:

- High quality everyday consumer electronics.

- Mobile devices/phones.

- Tablet PC and/or other computing devices

- Home automation products.

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE:

Essential/Mandatory:

- High degree of technical knowledge balanced with creative ability.

- An excellent grasp of engineering and design principles with ability to create exceptional designs

- Knowledge of industrial processes/techniques and standards

- Ability to make great aspirational product designs which are very ergonomic and are designed well for manufacturing.

- Should have a strong portfolio of professional and/or personal product design work.

- Experience in a role into aesthetics and engineering design of electronic or electro-mechanical products such as tablets, computers, printers, industrial portable electronic tools etc

- Sound knowledge of CAD software

Desirable / Optional:

- Excellent communication and problem solving skills

- Has worked in organizations specializing in designing high performance mobile phones, tablets, laptops and digital cameras OR has been a part of drone industry
