Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Production Engineer with experience in fasteners manufacturing to oversee and improve our production processes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for optimizing production efficiency, ensuring product quality, maintaining safety standards, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and control the manufacturing processes for screws, studs,etc.
- Monitor daily production activities and ensure that production targets are met efficiently and safely.
- Troubleshoot production issues and work so as to minimize downtime.
- Implement lean manufacturing techniques and continuous improvement strategies to enhance productivity.
- Analyze production data, prepare reports, and recommend process improvements.
- Collaborate with design, quality, and procurement teams to ensure timely and accurate product delivery.
- Maintain documentation for process parameters, tool layouts, machine settings, and production logs.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and company quality, health, and safety policies.
- Support new product development and assist in the design and testing of prototypes when required.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- 0-3 years of experience in a production engineering role, preferably in the fasteners or metal components industry.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes such as cold/hot forging, thread rolling, heat treatment, surface finishing, and CNC operations.
- Knowledge of quality standards such as ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and PPAP documentation.
- Proficient in using production planning.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to lead and coordinate cross-functional teams.
Preferred Attributes:
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
- Familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
- Hands-on knowledge of machine tooling and maintenance.
- Knowledge of Header machines, Pointing machines and Rolling machines.
Compensation: INR 20,000 to 25,000.
