Production Manager - Packaging (10-15 yrs)
Job Description:
Location: Chhindwara District -Madhya Pradesh
Title / Grade: Production Manager
Department: Production
Reports To: Director
Work Experience: 10-20 years of experience in Production/ manufacturing operations, with at least 5 ears in a leadership role.
Education: Diploma/ Bachelor's/BSC in Mechanical/Production/Plastic/Rubber Engineering or Technology
Position Summary:
- The Production manager is responsible for overall leadership, strategy, and operational excellence of the manufacturing facility.
- This role ensures production efficiency, quality compliance, cost optomization, safety, and alignment with the organization's strategic objectives.
Responsibilities:
Oversee end-to-end manufacturing operations, including planning, scheduling, production, and dispatch.
- Ensure production targets are met while maintaining quality standards.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma) to enhance efficiency.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for productivity, wastage, and cost.
- Ensure strict adherence to quality standards, certifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure environmental, health, and safety compliance throughout the plant.
- Prepare and manage the manufacturing budget.
- Optimize resources including manpower, raw materials, and machinery utilization.
- Reduce operational costs while maintaining quality and efficiency. Lead, mentor, and develop factory managers, supervisors, and staff.
- Drive a high-performance culture through goal setting, appraisals, and training.
- Foster employee engagement and teamwork across departments. Collaborate with senior management on strategic initiatives, capacity expansion, and process optimization.
- Provide timely reports on production, quality, inventory, and operational issues to top management.
- Plan and implement modernization and automation initiatives. Manage facility liasoning work with local authorities and regulatory bodies for factory amendments, licenses, and approvals.
- Ensure coordination with internal teams (Engineering, Quality, HR, Finance) for timely execution of amendment-related activities. Drive initiatives that support company goals and compliance with statutory and operational requirements.
- Partner with senior management on strategic initiatives, capacity expansion, and process optimization.
- Contribute to long-term planning and sustainability initiatives for business growth.
- Proven leadership, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and team management abilities.
- Criteria: Minimum Age: 40+ years.
