Job Description :

General scope of the job, responsibilities and authority :

To engineer and do start-up of assigned projects in time and to provide technical service/ support to customers.

- Sizing or cross verification of the Low voltage drives / motors as per the customer's load list or Motor & Component list

- Optimized engineering of project within the agreed schedule

- Prepare, study and analyse existing system and execute revamp solutions

- Preparation of list of documents

- Preparation of list of deliverables

- Understanding requirements of sub-system and coordinating with other engineering departments in getting it delivered as per application requirement

- Preparation of technical specifications

- Preparation/approval of basic engineering drawings like SLD, GA, IGA, fabrication drawings etc., in case of building stand-alone drive panels (especially for cranes).

- Perform technical review (along with the lead) before document submission to ensure that delivered documents are as per the customer technical specification.

- Ability to identify technical risk and escalate to team lead on time.

- Work with team lead to mitigate technical project risks and execute without project delay.

- Work closely with cross function/ LBU teams to achieve customer acceptance.

- Work closely with consultants and ensure timely approval of project drawings.

- Preparation of application software and necessary graphics

- Factory acceptance test

- Delivering as-built and as commissioned documents.

- Ensuring the quality of engineering deliverable

- Must express a high level of detail and accountability of completed work.

- Basic knowledge on tools like ACAD, ePlan, eBase is an added advantage

- Basic knowledge on electrical design standards and international standards like IEC, IS etc., is an added advantage.

- On-time start-up (commissioning) of the delivered projects

- Capturing customer complaints and timely solution

- Updating reusable solutions, work-around and problems handled into database

- Following safety norms and ensuring safe working environment

Educational Background :

- Minimum B.Tech/ B.E/ Diploma from a reputed University with First Class in Electrical/ Electrical & Electronics engineering.

Key skills and competences :

Technical :

- Knowledge of AC/ DC Drives (Converters/ Inverters)

- Knowledge of AC/ DC motors

- Knowledge of DCS/ PLC HW/SW Components

- Knowledge of IT/ Network/ Peripherals like UPS, Printer, PC's, Server components of DCS

- knowledge in application programming & HMI development/ modifications for PLC/ DCS systems

- Knowledge on different communication protocols used between PLC & Drives or in automation

- Experience of commissioning/ trouble shooting /servicing drive systems preferably in/for metal Industry & industrial cranes.

- Knowledge on drive tuning

- Working principle of drive system for paper applications like paper machine, winder etc.

- Knowledge of below ABB systems is added advantage :

1) ABB ACS880 multi drive, standalone drives

2) ABB ACS800 multi drive, standalone drives

3) ABB DCS800 LVDC drives

4) ABB Legacy drives like ACV700, DCV700, DCS600, ACS600, etc.

5) ABB automation systems like 800xA, Advant, Compact HMI etc.

Soft skills :

- A quick grasp for user and functional requirements

- Good oral and written communication skills in English.

Other

- Willing to travel extensively.

Work experience :

- 4-6 years of relevant work experience in drives solutions by similar suppliers or Paper Industry.

- Good listening and communication skills (both internally and with customers)

- A fast learner with an interest to share knowledge and train peers/ customers

Language skills (language/level) :

- Fluency in English, written and oral, is a must.
