Project Head - Power Plant (20-25 yrs)
Greenfield Project Head - 25MW Power Plant
Location: Africa
Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Project Head to lead the Development, Execution, Commissioning and Operation of a 25MW Greenfield power plant project in Africa. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing end-to-end power plant construction and commissioning, with expertise in stakeholder management, team leadership, and compliance with international standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the entire lifecycle of the 25MW power plant greenfield project, from planning and design to commissioning and handover.
- Lead project feasibility studies, resource planning, and risk assessments.
- Manage engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contracts, ensuring timely and cost-effective execution.
- Coordinate with government authorities, environmental agencies, and local stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Develop and manage project budgets, timelines, and quality benchmarks.
- Monitor progress and resolve project-related technical and operational challenges.
- Implement best practices for health, safety, and environmental (HSE) compliance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical) or a related discipline; a Master's degree in Project Management or Business Administration is an advantage.
- 20+ years of experience in power plant development, including at least 5 years leading Greenfield projects.
- In-depth knowledge of power generation technologies, including thermal, renewable, or hybrid systems.
- Familiarity with African energy sector regulations and practices is preferred.

- Effective communication and negotiation skills for engaging with international and local stakeholders.
- Knowledge of environmental, health, and safety regulations.
