Project Head - Solar EPC (18-25 yrs)

Strategic

- Participate in corporate strategy formulation, target finalization as a member of the top management team ; Bring forth implications of solar projects trends to enable corporate strategy finalization

- Shape organization point of view on emerging solar projects industry trends, competitor information, market share, pricing and demand-supply mapping, in coordination with Strategy & Business Planning team

- Develop and propose risk management strategies and action plans for various stages of all projects, with internal Sales and Supply Chain stakeholders

Financial

- Ensure achievement of target bottom line across the entire projects portfolio

- Oversee effective project management across all projects to prevent project cost overruns

- Ensure timely and accurate collections, minimal contingent liabilities and operating costs for VPPPL and VP Utilities

Process

- Support project acquisition activities including project assessments, feasibility, commercial viability, bid proposals, etc. as a member of Tender Opportunity Evaluation Committee

- Work closely with project sales team to understand and contribute to client agreements, terms & conditions to ensure adequate risk mitigation and returns on the project

- Closely monitor execution of solar owned power projects right from inception stage; Provide techno-commercial guidance to strategy& business planning teams as well as team below for successful execution

- Oversee execution-related agreements and work in close association with Head - KW Projects, Head - MW Project Construction to ensure timely execution and smooth transition between project stages

- Oversee coordination between KW & MW Project Heads and Engineering Design and ensure adherence to project progress schedules; resolve escalations, issues and reasons for project delays, if any

- Ensure smooth O&M across plants by periodically reviewing performance against parameters such as efficiency, quality, and cost-effective management of resources

- Review proposals from MW Projects O&M Head pertaining to asset management, technical training, asset overhaul/disposal and process optimization and provide inputs on the same to the Managing Director, for finalization

- Ensure development of SOPs applicable for all projects; periodically review overall compliance with the same

- Oversee collections across all clients and manage escalations pertaining to issues with customers and assist in resolution of the same

- Ensure anytime compliance with regulatory and safety norms and stipulations through periodic reviews of operating processes

- Manage key client relations starting from agreement stage through the complete lifecycle of client agreement

- Periodically liaise with key central / state level government officials and other relevant authorities to ensure policy advocacy

- Oversee the implementation of Quality Inspection processes as per the set organizational guidelines, for all projects, during project execution and construction stage;

- Conduct measurement of project and service results and asses team performance at the close of each project against defined criteria

- Ensure effective fund inflow for all projects and operations by managing related escalations, in coordination with the Head, Finance and ensure a positive cash flow for smooth project operations

- Drive a culture of operational excellence by driving cost, quality and time focus amongst all employees within the department and by ensuring optimal resource utilization

- Facilitate achievement of key business goals/ mitigation of key organizational risks by driving assigned organizational initiatives/ task forces such as green field projects

- Promote the VPPPL and VP Utilities brand through media presence, written articles, personal appearances in industrial forums/ conferences

People

- Drive a performance driven culture in the organization by timely monitoring, review of performance parameters and feedback to the team members

- Enable capability development of self and team members by overseeing implementation of appropriate systems and policies

- Oversee succession planning for all critical roles in the team and groom high-potential subordinates

- Actively participate as Function Head / Line Manager in HR initiatives to drive overall employee engagement and motivation

Any other additional responsibility could be assigned to the role holder from time to time as a standalone project or regular work. The same would be suitably represented in the Primary responsibilities and agreed between the incumbent and competent authority
