Project Manager - Civil (20-25 yrs)

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES :

- Make schedules for construction projects, oversee and direct the project from conception to construction to completion by coordinating deadlines to ensure projects are completed within the proposed time frame

- Knowledge of project controls- to evaluate and determine the needs of the project, understand the scope of the project, assess risks, assign tasks and plan for execution

- Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones

- Review the project in-depth to schedule deliverables

- Budgeting experience in cost estimation, cost control, and cost analysis to manage project costs and control budgets, ensuring that the project does not exceed the proposed costs

- Prepare a budget outlining both soft and hard costs to evaluate project cost in detailed manner. When necessary, find solutions to reduce budgets such as using alternative building materials etc

- Ensure that project milestones/goals are met, adhering to approved budgets

- Negotiate contract with contractors, subcontractors and external vendors to reach profitable agreements and renegotiate the contract in case of unexpected changes

- Obtaining permits and licenses from appropriate authorities

- Create agendas for meetings and prepare work timetables, schedules and logs

- Attend Construction Meetings


- Communicate with staff, supervisors, and other parties involved with the construction project, contribute by discussing budgets, plans, and goals.

- Evaluate construction methods and determine cost-effectiveness of plans, using computer software

- Study job specifications to determine appropriate construction methods

- Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques

- Understanding of construction- knowledge of safety regulations, building codes, trade sequencing, and best building practices, which would help in problem-solving and dealing with complex or detailed projects

- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other construction specialists

- Interpret and explain contracts and technical information to other professionals in a clear manner

- Communication skills- to coordinate and work with a variety of stakeholders such as contractors, subcontractors, inspectors, architects, and suppliers

- Determine the necessary equipment, materials, and manpower needed

- Keep track of inventory, tools and equipment

- Conduct site checks to monitor progress and quality standards

- Supervise Staff - Supporting and supervising staff in day-to-day operations, monitor and control safety and give directions as necessary

- Train and mentor construction workers and construction laborers depending on the nature and size of the project

- Excellent at decision making to make major decisions for construction projects and understand the implications

- Prepare project status reports and works to ensure plans adhere to contract specifications

- Prepare daily and weekly progress reports in a timely manner and submit to the senior management

- Problem-solving skills to address delays, emergencies or other issues

- Willing to take up additional roles and responsibilities as and when required

- Proactive in ensuring the accomplishment of organizational goals & objectives along with self development

- Willingness to learn and to grow with the company and motivated to take on additional responsibilities and solve problems

- Self-directed and able to work without supervision

- Should have leadership skills and a team player role to manage and supervise the team members and lower staff

- Conflict resolution and conflict management experience

- Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards

- Highly organized and action-oriented

- A Multi-tasker who works well in a fast-paced environment

- Proficient computer skills, including Office Automation, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)

Job Qualification:

Required :

- Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Civil Engineering

- Project Management Software (Primavera, Microsoft Project, or similar)

- In-depth understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles

Preferred :

- PMP or equivalent certification will be an advantage

- Should have a solid understanding of the industry

Experience :

For Civil Diploma Holder :

- Minimum of 25 years- experience

- Atleast two projects should have completed in a same role

For Civil Engineer(B.E/B.Tech) :

- Minimum of 20 years- experience

- Atleast two projects should have completed in a same role
