Job Summary :

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Purchase Manager to oversee procurement activities for our fertilizer manufacturing company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing raw materials, negotiating with suppliers, managing inventory levels, and ensuring timely delivery of materials while maintaining cost-effectiveness and quality standards. The Purchase Manager will collaborate with various departments to understand their procurement needs and develop strategies to optimize the purchasing process. Strong analytical skills, negotiation abilities, and a deep understanding of supply chain management are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities :

- Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet company objectives for cost, quality, and efficiency.

- Source and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, reliability, and delivery speed.

- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to obtain the best value for the company.

- Monitor market trends, industry developments, and supplier performance to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.

- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including production, engineering, and finance departments, to understand their procurement requirements and ensure timely delivery of materials.

- Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including contracts, purchase orders, and supplier agreements.

- Manage inventory levels to minimize excess stock and ensure continuity of supply.

- Resolve supplier disputes and address issues related to quality, delivery, or pricing.

- Stay up-to-date with relevant regulations and industry standards affecting procurement processes in the fertilizer manufacturing sector.

- Supervise and mentor procurement staff, providing guidance and support to ensure their professional development and performance.

Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, supply chain management, or a related field.

- Proven experience in procurement or purchasing roles within the fertilizer manufacturing industry, with at least [3 years of managerial experience.

- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.

- In-depth knowledge of supply chain management principles and best practices.

- Proficiency in procurement software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.

- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

- Demonstrated leadership qualities, including the ability to motivate and develop a team.

- Familiarity with relevant regulations and compliance standards in the fertilizer manufacturing sector.
