Position Title : Quality Manager, India

Position Summary: Reporting to Director of Quality, and working with Client's Contract Manufacturer (CM), the Quality Manager will implement highly efficient and effective processes to manage:

- All CM & sub-suppliers activities related to quality in India.

- Work with manufacturing engineers to drive manufacturing process qualification/validations during line setup

and for any change introduced after product launch.

- Regional Tier 2 supplier quality management.

- Manufacturing quality improvement resulting in PPM reduction.

- Manage all factory quality issues, 8D, customer complaints and failure analysis.

This role is also responsible for assessing & identifying the manufacturability of Client products for design improvements in a manner that is optimal for manufacturing. The Manager will continuously identify and champion improvements to existing products and manufacturing processes as required.

This position will be based in Manesar, India, at Client's Contract Manufacturer (CM) site.

Specific Duties:

- During product transfer, works closely with CM & DQT-Manufacturing to move production lines from China/Mexico to India and establish a stable manufacturing process in CM plants in India.

- Work with Manufacturing Engineering to develop and reviews, Product Flow Chart (PFC), Production Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and Control Plan creation and updates (with supplier participation)

- Reviews and approves Manufacturing Control Plan (Pre-launch & Production) and work with MFG Eng to define Key Critical Processes for Capability studies.

- Be present at manufacturing line during PPAP build to collect, review and share PPAP data with the quality team.

- Take full responsibility on customer, regulatory bodies and Client company audits and present DQT during these audits.

- Regularly conduct physical Control plan audit on CM production lines and Tier 2 localized supply chain. Report audit findings to DQT teams.

- Audit Control Plan Regularly and to ensure equipment control requirements are defined and met for production, assembly, and testing processes.

- Take a lead role to drive Internal/ External PRR(8D) and its timely closure.

- Audit implementation of Engineering Changes for full traceability at the CM with through PLM system.

- Ensures that equipment and processes are being developed on time, on budget and to the required quality standards.

- Support MFG Engineering to ensures that all assembly processes operate within lean manufacturing principles such as Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Kaizen, Kanban, poka-yoke etc. Reinforces TPM, standardized work and JI training in CM by regular auditing practices.

- Works with CM and RMA team to analyze, find the root cause of RMA returned units and makes the improvement in manufacturing process.

- Conducts supplier development activities for localization related to Quality Audits and Requirements.

- Performs special projects as required in support of departmental objectives.

- Work with CM, Quality team at Burnaby to establish and report factory Quality performance indicators including supplier PPM, In-process PPM and Outgoing quality PPM.

- Support product Engineering change orders, PCN, FAI activity.

Requirements:

- A minimum of 7 years- experience as a Quality Engineer in a high-volume manufacturing; high mix environment combined with a bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in Engineering or a relevant discipline such as Electronics Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.

- In-depth knowledge of the manufacture and assembly of power electronics products including:

- Lean manufacture of components and final product assembly

- Surface Mounting Technology / Through Hole Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA) techniques

- Inductor/transformer manufacture

- Cable harness manufacture

- Custom mechanical assembly processes and equipment development

- In-process, end of line and out of box testing techniques

- Best practice knowledge of key supporting processes such as conformal coat, crimping, potting etc.

- Knowledge of Electronic base Traceability system, Bill of Materials (BOM), Change- Management tools and practices.

- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Production System and Total Preventive Maintenance

- Hands on experience in PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, Process Flow, Process Capability and SPC

- Good project planning skills and a willingness to accept responsibility and to deliver to targets, showing perseverance to overcome obstacles.

- Ability to produce succinct reports/presentations to communicate the status of assigned projects and tasks.

- Hands on experience with ISO 9001based quality system. Familiarity with ISO/IATF16949

- Effective verbal and written communication skills in Hindi and English

- Must be independent, self-directed, an excellent team player with advanced team facilitation skills.

- Must be able to travel internationally.

- Must be available to be at the factory minimum of 4 days per week. Work from home required.
