Quality Manager - Icecream Manufacturing Plant (5-15 yrs)
Key Responsibilities:
Safety Trainings and Safety Consciousness:
- Prioritize safety as the foremost concern within the department, ensuring that every team member receives comprehensive safety training.
- Achieve safety training targets and ensure adherence to all mandated safety norms and standards in daily operations.
- Ensure the consistent use of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as P3 nose masks, safety shoes, etc., by all team members to prevent accidents and hazardous conditions.
Quality Consciousness:
- Monitor and ensure that all manufacturing processes comply with established quality norms and standards.
- Oversee lab operations and on-line quality control (QC) to ensure compliance with the UMA method prescribed by HUL.
- Address quality deviations with urgency, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Establish procedures and checks to identify and mitigate quality gaps proactively.
- Lead quality improvement projects to enhance overall product quality..
Product Quality:
- Ensure that all batch processes and material quantities align with HUL specifications, with accurate line checks and controls.
- Maintain DPMU within internal targets, aiming for zero depot holds and customer or consumer complaints.
- Ensure that both RM and On-Line labs are fully equipped with necessary facilities and testing equipment per HUL specifications.
- Conduct annual internal audits and ensure product recall and traceability from raw materials (RM) to finished goods (FG) and vice versa.
- Manage complaint handling and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) for all received complaints.
- Control non-conforming materials to maintain product quality standards.
Critical Control Point Monitoring:
- Conduct annual HACCP studies and reviews, especially when there are process design changes.
- Ensure all Critical Control Points (CCP) are regularly monitored and maintained.
- Evaluate and discuss critical quality-related activities, providing timely updates to relevant departments based on the activity's urgency.
Retention Sample Management:
- Ensure proper storage of all samples and documents per company policy.
- Manage retention of product samples by shift, day, cascade/stroke machine, and SKU.
MIS Reports:
- Ensure timely submission of daily, weekly, and monthly Management Information System (MIS) reports to the GM-Operations and HUL.
Calibration and Maintenance:
- Oversee the maintenance and calibration of all lab instruments and equipment, ensuring timely external calibration as required.
Quality & Process Internal & External Audits:
- Conduct monthly process and quality audits, submitting reports to GM-Operations and HUL's WCM portal.
- Facilitate smooth execution of quality audits such as BRC, WCM, GMP, and HH, adhering to defined standards and procedures.
- Review and resolve all non-conformances identified in previous audits within the stipulated time frame.
Training & Development:
- Provide regular training to both the quality and production teams, focusing on identified gaps in production processes.
Qualifications:
Educational Background:
UG- B.SC-Chemistry
PG- M.SC (Chemistry), Microbiology
Experience:
Relevant Experience: Minimum of 5-7yrs of experience in Ice Cream Industry preferred.
