Job Overview :

We are looking for a skilled and creative Mechanical Design Engineer with experience in product design, focusing on the development and enhancement of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) systems. The candidate will take ownership of developing various subsystems, conducting design and analysis to support UAV research and development. This involves creating new designs from the ground up or improving existing products, guiding them through all stages of design, development, and testing, until they are ready for production. You will ensure the designs are reliable, durable, and meet real-world flight requirements while adhering to industry standards.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead the conceptualization, design, and development of UAVs, including fixed-wing, rotary-wing, and hybrid platforms, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and durability.

-Conduct comprehensive structural analysis to validate UAV airframe integrity, followed by prototyping and testing.

- Optimize UAV designs for manufacturability, considering material selection, production methods, and cost-eVectiveness.

- Develop operational concepts and define product concepts, ensuring clear design objectives and performance targets.

- Create 3D CAD models, manufacturing drawings, and assemblies for new and existing products and systems based on design specifications.

- Develop, review, and release detailed engineering drawings, ensuring compliance with industry standards.

- Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles in the design and drawing creation process.

- Oversee the creation and management of Engineering Bill of Materials (EBOM) and Manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOM).

- Prepare and maintain technical documentation for manufacturing, testing, and compliance with applicable regulations.

- Perform structural calculations for component sizing and provide justification for material selection and design decisions.

- Work closely with the manufacturing and integration teams to ensure designs are production-ready, meet all necessary standards, and facilitate smooth integration of UAV systems, including avionics, propulsion, and payload components.

- Stay up to date with the latest materials, manufacturing technologies, and industry trends to incorporate innovative solutions into designs.

Key Skills and Competencies:

- Extensive knowledge of UAV systems, including avionics, propulsion, aircraft structures, and various sensors and payloads.

- Hands-on experience with 3D CAD tools like CATIA, including surface, part, assembly, and wire harnessing design.

- Basic experience in Ansys workbench.

- Familiarity with commonly used manufacturing processes, material selection, and production methods.

- Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail for solving complex engineering problems.

- Experience in modeling parts for 3D printing and applying advanced manufacturing techniques.

- Solid understanding and practical application of GD&T in design and drawing creation.

- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and ensure successful integration of design elements.

Qualifications:

B.Tech / M.Tech in Mechanical / Aerospace Engineering or related field with 1+ years of relevant experience.
